Who we are
Axcended is the developer and data controller for the Axcended app. In this policy, “we”, “us”, or “our” refers to Axcended; “you” refers to an individual using our Services.
Scope
This policy covers the Axcended mobile and web applications, websites we operate that link here, and customer support interactions. It does not apply to third-party services that have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, and profile details you provide when creating an account or contacting support.
- Usage & diagnostics — device data, app interactions, crash logs, and performance metrics (e.g., Google Analytics for Firebase) used to improve reliability and features.
- Optional data — preferences (subjects, categories), feedback, and other info you choose to share to personalize your experience.
How we use information
- Provide and operate the Services, including authentication and account management.
- Respond to support requests and send service-related messages.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and improve content and features through aggregated analytics.
- Send optional updates or tips if you opt in (you may opt out at any time).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and community guidelines.
Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Account data is retained while your account remains active. Analytics is stored in aggregate and deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — update your account details in-app or by contacting us.
- Marketing choices — opt out of promotional emails via unsubscribe links.
- Analytics controls — disable analytics where available in device settings or contact us to object where applicable.
- Deletion — you may delete your account as described below; we will delete or de-identify associated data subject to legal obligations.
Depending on your region, you may have additional rights (e.g., POPIA in South Africa or GDPR in the EEA/UK). Contact us to exercise applicable rights.
Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as contractual clauses) to protect data during international transfers.
Account deletion
You can delete your account directly in the app (Settings → Delete account). You can also request deletion via our web form:
Deleting an account removes your identity from authentication and initiates deletion of associated content, subject to allowed retention for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post updates here and revise the “Last updated” date.
